Blue Sky Builders and NNMC Men's Basketball Coach Ryan Cordova

Men's Basketball Coach Ryan Cordova’s family, owners of "Blue Sky Builders," have completed several no-bid
contracts for NNMC, with his wife Brandi Cordova as the internal NNMC approval signature for
purchase orders and payments from NNMC. In addition, the NNMC "buyer" for Blue Sky Builders has been the current significant other of VP of Advancement Ricky Serna, Ms. Monique Romero. The Cordova family business “Blue Sky Builders” has invoiced the college for a remodel of the NNMC bookstore ($309,000), though our local woman-owned, Pueblo-owned Avanyu builders bid over $100,000 less for the remodel. A small sampling of the invoices paid to the Cordova family business (below) includes: $309,000 for bookstore remodel; $24,690 for new porch; $19,790 for a silkscreen logo on tile entrance; $17, 824 for remodel of the Board room; $13,472 for “debris removal” at the Auto Tech building (program was closed by Barcelo and Board); over $10,000 for rust removal and maintenance for the Child Development Center (closed by Barcelo and Board in 2014).
